Cypress Creek Golf Course in Mobile set to open this week

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Commission announced this week it will mark the soft launch of its all-new Cypress Creek Golf Course, Wednesday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m.

The address is listed as 3700 St Andrews Ln N in Mobile.

The county says it is opening the course for limited advance-reservation play while allowing the newly established turf additional time to mature before expanding operations.

A news release from Mobile County says Cypress Creek Golf Course is a new public 18-hole course built from the ground up on the site of the former Linksman Golf Course.

The county says it is designed by Jerry Pate, and the course is part of Mobile County’s development of Riviére du Chien Park and expands public recreation and golf opportunities, including support for local youth golf.

The county news release says District 3 Commissioner Randall Dueitt has championed this project since taking office in 2020. The land was purchased with GOMESA funding in 2021, and the course was developed using a combination of funding sources.

The release says tee time reservations open Sept. 18; call 251-753-9540.
