Cypress Creek Golf Course opens in Mobile County
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile County is opening a new public golf course this week.
The Mobile County Commission held a soft launch Wednesday for the new Cypress Creek Golf Course, an 18-hole, Jerry Pate-designed layout built on the site of the old Linksman Golf Course off St. Andrews Lane.
Public play starts Friday. It is limited to advance-reservation tee times while the new turf matures.
Foursomes can book Thursday through Sunday, but golfers must call ahead for a tee time.
Tennis and pickleball courts next to the range are also open daily. They are free and available first-come, first-served.
County leaders say Cypress Creek is the first piece of the larger Riviére du Chien Park, which will eventually add waterfront access, a boardwalk, picnic areas and an ADA-accessible kayak launch along the Dog River.
