911: Hooters employee calls for help after former Mobile councilman allegedly makes disturbing comments
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A former Mobile city councilman is accused of making inappropriate and threatening comments toward employees at a restaurant on Airport Boulevard.
Mobile police are charging William Carroll with two counts of second-degree making terrorist threats.
What court documents say
Court documents say on Oct. 14, Carroll told a female employee at Hooters, “I rape little girls like you,” and “I dig ditches and kill people before.”
Court records also say he told another employee, “I kill people for a living and rape little girls like her.”
Arrest and 911 call
Court documents show Carroll was arrested at Cedar and Conti streets last night just after 7. The arrest comes nearly two weeks after a Hooters employee called 911 to have Carroll trespassed from the restaurant. Transcripts of that call match what other court records allege Carroll said to the employees.
In the call, the employee tells the dispatcher she needs police at Hooters, saying, “I’ve got a gentleman here claiming that he rapes little girls like my staff and he buries people for a living. I’ve got his check so I’m going to need you here quick.”
The employee then says, “I’m going to try and hold on to his check until you get here without him asking any questions.”
The dispatcher tells her police are being notified.
The employee later says, “He’s not going to come in here and talk to any of us like that. I mean I’ll comp his ticket before I give him back the card. I’m just going to hold onto it until you get here.”
Investigators say police issued Carroll a trespass warning that day and told him to leave.
Jail records show he was released from Metro Jail on a $6,000 bond a little over an hour after being booked.
Court date
FOX10 News is waiting for a comment from Carroll’s attorney.
Court records show Carroll has a hearing on Nov. 12.
Even though it is a misdemeanor case, the district attorney’s office will be handling it since Carroll worked for the city.
